Story
As you know I love to ride my bike. I am passionate about helping the Amy Gillett Foundation create a safer environment for all bicycle riders and help improve traffic flow for all road users. Did you know that 48 people were killed in 2013 and 9,307 bike riders were seriously injured in Australia? Well this is only fact. But guess what? For me, There were not cyclist but son, daughter, mother or father. There were young, old or just unlucky! This is not fair! This charity is all about awareness and education.
Also I am taking part in the fundraising challenge leading up to the Wiggle Amy’s Gran Fondo event on 11 September 2016 to help this fondation but most important to obtain a chance to start at the top of the peleton for the qualificatin race for the world which will be in France next year! I need to be in top 25 best of Australian...
The only way to start at the top of the peleton, at the begining of the start line is too rise money!
$250 = I start at the top
$150 = middle pack
$50= the bottom of the pack
And if I don't botter rising money for a good cause, well, I start at the end of the pack.... and probably decrease my chance of being qualified for the world championship 2017.
Any contribution you can make will help the AGF achieve its vision of zero bike rider fatalities.
Activity
Amy Gillett Foundation
The Amy Gillett Foundation (AGF) began its work in 2006 in the name of Amy Gillett, who was tragically killed as a result of being hit by a motorist whilst cycling with the Australian Women’s Road cycling team in Germany in 2005.
The Amy Gillett Foundation's vision is for safe bicycling throughout Australia in order to achieve the ultimate target of zero bicycling fatalities.
The Foundation promotes a safe and harmonious relationship of shared respect between bicyclists and motorists – to highlight the importance of being responsible every time we head out on the road whether we're on two wheels or on four. Why? Because everyone deserves to arrive at their destination safely irrespective of their chosen mode of transport.
